DSIC and China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd signed the contract for building four VLCCs in the Vessel Project Signing Ceremony of CSIC in the afternoon of 3rd December.

The successful signing for building new vessels between two parties will further expand the fleet of China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd, and improve the market share and reputation of DSIC in VLCC market. It will play an important role for DSIC’s stable and healthy development.

In previous VLCC projects, China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd had strong awareness of innovation and was the pioneer for industrial revolution. DSIC and China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd have cooperated in innovation of several brands of VLCC, including the first model sail-assisted vessel, two model extra-large smart crude oil tankers, the first crude oil tanker that has been verified through CCS’ Desulfurization System Testing Program. Both parties have in-depth cooperation in “l(fā)ow-carbon, green and smart” through the mechanism of “industry-college-institute cooperation”, boost continuously the technical advantage in extra large oil tankers and bring along the high-quality growth of the ship industry.
