DSIC Business Development Corporation on August 31 signed a construction contract with Japan Fukada Salvage & Marine Work Co., Ltd for one 22700DWT semi-submersible barge, where Fukada Salvage & Marine Work Co., Ltd President Misaki Kozo and DSIC Business Development Corporation GM Wang Bo signed the contract on behalf of the parties respectively.

Japan Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd Senior Managing Director Hagaki Kazuyuki, Dalian Imaoka Shipbuilding Co., Ltd Deputy GM Xu Li, and DSIC leaders Liu Zheng, Yang Jian and Yu Fengping attended the signing ceremony, witnessing the signing of newbuilding contract together.

The 22700DWT semi-submersible barge is loa 141m, breadth molded 36m, depth molded 8.7m, non-propelled, NK classed, with max. submerged depth of 16.7 m, mainly used for large marine transport and offshore engineering construction. Japan Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd will furnish with technical assistance, equipment & material supply, and supervision management. The owner of this vessel is Fukada Salvage & Marine Work Co., Ltd, established in 1910, a famous large company mainly engaged in maritime salvage, offshore engineering, port construction and large transport, who has had more than 40 vessels including heavy floating cranes, salvage & rescue ships, semi-submersible ships and barges.
